Yep, not small. Also ugly, the P-8 looks much more like a plane.

It’s not that bad. Utilitarian, I’d say. Can we convert it into an airliner? I think the extra width would be quite nice.
I always thought that the L-188 Electra was rather ugly, but the airframe looks so much better with the longer nose as seen on the P-3. Still uncomfortable and slow to fly on - I still have memories from the mid ‘70s when my flight was changed from a 737 to an Electra. Too slow, too buzzy.
The tail really gives away how old it is.

Theres a photo online of a c5 next to a c130. I knew the c5 was big, but I never knew the c5 was that HUGE until I saw the c130 next to it.

They were working on one, though apparently it’s been abandoned:

The description makes it sound like it wouldn’t have been much, if any, roomier than a 737 though.

I did not know about this - thanks for the info.
Yea, it looks like they took away the one place it would have an advantage, namely the fuselage width. If you can’t do it better why bother?
I loved the 737 and found it very roomy - when I was 9. Nowadays I dead every flight unless by some miracle I get upgraded to business or first. I remember getting first class on a NW 757 years ago and was disappointed that it was still 6 abreast - WTF?

One of my favorite spots was this P-8 that I caught at Dyess AFB back in 2014. Pretty much the last thing I expected to see at an Air Force base.
I think part of what makes the P-1's size hard to judge is the huge cockpit windows. It kind of throws off the scale.

Forget next to, try in:
But yes, there is some disparity:
Still not as shocking as the B-29 vs. B-36:

The middle photo, thats the one I was re ferr ing to. I believe its from the MH17 disaster, where the two planes transported the deceased back to Holland.
The B-29 vs B-36 is also quite jaw dro pping.
